Garth Hattan of Calif., left, and his Australian fiance Susan Aldous, a prison activist,
arrive at Thailand's immigration detention center in Bangkok Friday, Dec. 6, 2002,
as Hattan was moved from a maximum security prison. Hattan was given a 40-year sentence
in 1994 for trafficking heroin but is one of eight U.S. prisoners going home Sunday under
a treaty that lets the United States bring it's imprisoned citizens home after they serve
a portion of their sentences in Thailand. The pair got engaged after Aldous began visiting
