Your friend needs almost everything.
However, not everything is allowed during a visit.
Money MUST be deposited at the prison Bank.
It cannot be handed directly to a prisoner.
Avoid depositing too much money at one time.
It may have undesired side effects. Be realistic !!
Things like vitamins, ( and other items sold at the prison store ),
may be sent by mail, but are seldom allowed to be given during a visit.
Remember ALL ITEMS must pass thru a strict inspection.
You will NOT actually get near to your friend except for rare "contact visits".
Visitors and prisoners are separated by distance and dual fences.
PERMITTED ITEMS:
Fresh fruit - ( it may be cut open ... maybe not )
Fresh Food - from a nearby resturant.
It can also be ordered and delivered from some local resturants.
Dry Food - Candy, Chocolate,
Family Photos and mail
Reading Materials
books
magazines
news-papers - especially in home language !
Writing supplies
( may or may not be allowed - if they are sold in the prison store ).
Toiletries ( sometimes blocked because of competition with the store )
soap, tooth-paste, tooth-brush, dental-floss
Clothes - light-weight, quick dry types
shirts, hats, shorts etc.
Tapes and CD's :
Prisoners are NOT officially allowed have them in the cells.
It is OK to play them and carry them around, but storage becomes a problem.
